Bit and Drill Table Drill Rig Parts Breakdown

In 2009 a new more environmently friendly Mobile Drill had been designed, tested and deployed to initial field operations in Southern B.C. The unit is capable of drilling to 100 meters with BTW bit size although this is already being upgraded. All drilling equipment is carried on two Kubota RTV900 four wheel drive quads.
Like the F1000 and the F2000 the new drill was designed and built by Falcon Drilling. All drills are of the diesel powered hydraulic type. The "F" series drills are powered with either a 4 cylinder Isuzu turbo diesel (140Hp) or a 6 cylinder Isuzu turbo diesel (196Hp). A hydraulic system, driven by the engine, is used to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity, minimum down time and simple operation. The drills have a 5 foot stroke for maximum core recovery and production. A hydraulically powered pressure pump is used for hole flushing, bit cooling and pumping Bentonite or Polymer down the drill hole.
The "F" series machines consist of four main components: engine, hydraulic pack, feed frame including the drill head, the feed frame base including the wire line winch. The drills are designed to be quickly disassembled into the four components and moved easily with a light helicopter such as the Hughes 500D or Bell 206.
In additionto our own Mobile and "F" series drills, other equipment such as the Boyles BBS56 and Long Year 38 are also available for even deeper drilling requirements.

F2000 Drill:- A more powerful and flexible version of the F1000 this drill can penetrate deeper and handles HQ and NQ bit sizes as well as BTW. It is designed around the same concept of reliability and ease of use. It also breaks down into the same four modules and can be moved as easily as the F1000. Both drills can be moved and reassembled with only 2 ground crew. If helicopter support is not required or available the drills can be equipped with skid frames to enable relocation using a bulldozer or skidder.
